Easter celebrations began this year with our annual Good Friday service in our Dr. Darwin “Doc” Overholt Chapel. Attendees, men and women from our residential program and staff members, were encouraged through songs and messages lead by our ministry directors. “He has risen!” we all exclaimed with joy and reverence in our hearts.
Easter Bags for Residents
This Easter we at DRM would love to give our residents something special and meaningful for Easter that meets both their physical and spiritual needs outside of the services we already provide. We decided to give every man, woman and child a gift bag and we need your help to make this possible. Would your business, church or family help us by sponsoring bags for Easter?
Sponsoring bags are easy. You simply need to contact our Development Coordinator, Corey Buckner, and inform him of the number of bags you want to fill and whether they are for a man, woman or child. His phone number is (256) 536-2441 x 316 and email corey@downtownrescuemission.org.
Last year we were able to give every person here of an Easter gift basket. How exciting! A collection of more than 250 gift bags were donated from CrossPointe Church, Summit Crossing Community Church and other individuals.

Below is a list of items you can purchase to fill each of the bags you create. Each bag should include at least seven to ten of these items. Our goal is 175 bags for men, 75 bags for woman and 50 bags for children.
